    This is my PP Journey

This is my postpartum journey.   These photos were taken exactly 1 year apart. The first being weeks after getting home from our honeymoon last year (in my shirt) & the second being taken 6 weeks post partum (in my husbands shirt).   I struggled a lot with my image & body weight during pregnancy in these first 6 weeks of recovery. I’ve come to love my body again. It doesn’t look the same. It looks a little tired, a little stretched out, a little wider. But it’s also stronger.   It provides the nutrients my baby needs to live all day everyday. It grew life. It recovered from…

    3 months PP

So, here we are. 3 months postpartum. As promised I did my measurements and weigh in. I’m not going to lie to you, it was far from what I was expecting.⁣ ⁣ After 7 weeks of intense gym workouts, tracking everything I’ve been eating and even having had switched to a plant-based diet for the past 5 weeks I have only dropped 1.5 lbs.⁣ ⁣ This was a hard reality to face — that if I hadn’t gone to such extremes I surely would be gaining weight throughout this fourth trimester. ⁣ I’ve spoken to my doctor and done a lot of reading and came across some really interesting…

    Choose Wisely

So I got a bit of a bone to pick here… ⁣ I follow this fitness life coach on my personal account who’s about positivity and of course fitness. ⁣ ⁣ She’s pregnant and posted about people “wishing” to look like her or others throughout different journeys and that anybody could have what she has you just have to work for it. She was trying to promote accountability in saying that if you don’t have that body or level of fitness but you want it; you need to ask yourself what you could be doing better and what you’re doing to self sabotage. ⁣ ⁣ I did understand the…

Everything happens for a reason & you’re the best reason ever

I was clueless to know, that in less than a year I’d be a mom to my baby boy. ⁣ ⁣ That in less than a year my world would change as I know it. ⁣ ⁣ That in less than a year, something as simple as getting groceries has to be meticulously planned and thought out and is no longer a spontaneous quick trip. ⁣ ⁣ That in less than a year my heart would grow bigger than I could ever imagine. ⁣ ⁣ That in less than a year sleeping 8 hours straight for the first time in months sends chills down my spine and makes me…

8 Beginner Tips to Get Your First Mortgage

8 Beginner Tips to Get Your First Mortgage My first mortgage story began when I was sitting in a small office, florescent lighting straining my eyes as I was face to face with a complete stranger talking about the ginormous amount of debt we were about to take on and the big chunk of money we were handing over. I shouldn’t have felt uncomfortable asking all of my questions, but I had so many to start and each answer I was provided just added another 3 questions to my constantly large growing  list. This lead me to create the post I wish I had before I started the process of…

    The Best Vegan Cinnamon Buns

Ooey and goey…soft and slightly chewy. Sweet and so delicious you know you should stop but you can’t. Can you guess what I’m talking about? Cinnamon Buns! They are one of my favourite desserts in the world and finding a bun that hits all of the notes perfectly is harder that you would expect. Not to toot my own horn, but I do believe I make a mean bun. The dough – it must be fluffy and soft, but not undercooked and the…

    Huntly’s Birth Story

labour preparation Pregnancy, child birth, babies and children…they are all truly unpredictable from start to finish. If you followed my pregnancy journey then you would know that there were many aspects of it that were very unforeseeable, unplanned and downright surprising. With my pregnancy being that way, I should have expected the same for my birth story. But once again, I was completely caught off guard and surprised.  In the third trimester we went to a birth and labour class as well as got a tour of the maternity ward at the hospital I was delivering at. During both, they mentioned that just under 30% of the woman attending the…
